Town of Telluride
This historic mining town has become a mecca for sportsmen and culture lovers alike. With fantastic views of the box canyon and great access to mountain sports in summer and winter alike, Telluride is now one of the most popular destinations in the country for both visitors and full-time residents. Vacant land is scarce, with approximately 10+ lots ranging from .1 to .23 acres.
With a population of only about 2000 people and its unique location, the town affords its residents a remarkably safe and crime-free environment, yet provides the needed services with its mature infrastructure. The cultural amenities and festival schedule alone are the envy of towns 50 times its size!
Accommodations District (see Blue area on map)
Close to the San Miguel River, the gondola and Lift 8 on the south side of town, this district has a mixture of many fine single family homes, rental houses, several lodges, and many condominium complexes with some restaurants and shops. Views are generally directed up to the skin runs, up the box canyon, down valley, and to the northern red rock foothills.
Depot District (Beige area on map)
A very desirable residential area (and higher priced) within the accommodations district, this area enjoys the river and great proximity to the gondola and skiing. The historic railroad depot which has been converted to the science center is located here as well as the Elks Club facility.
Bachman Village (Purple area on map)
Located at the far west end of town and close to Lift 7, this lower priced area has a lot of cute houses built in the late 20th century mixed with a nice concentration of condos and accommodations for short term vacation rental potential. There are also a couple of employee housing condo projects in the area along with some commercial outlets.
Historic District (Red area on map)
Stretching along the north and south sides of Colorado Ave. (Main St.), this central core of town has the bulk of commercial buildings – restaurants, shops, and offices along both sides of Colorado Ave. On the south side, there are more condos and commercial buildings, while the north area is mainly devoted to upscale historic houses away from the hustle and bustle. When people envision the Town of Telluride, it is the view looking to the east down Colorado Ave. to the magnificent box canyon and is one of the reasons they want to be a part of our resort community.
Gondola Corridor (Yellow area on map)
With nicer accommodations that have easy access to the gondola, the river trail, and the center of town, residences, high-end hotels and condos, and great restaurants are found in this very popular area of town. For those people interested in investing in Telluride or Mountain Village the Telluride Gondola effortlessly connects both communities.
